چکیده

Abstract This paper describes a new switching topology of a sampling mixer for SAW-less GPS (L1 band) receivers. The GPS receiver with the new mixer achieved NF 2.5dB and good blocking performance. In an alternative implementation, the mixer is stacked under a Quadrature VCO to reuse supply current. As a result, the current consumption of the GPS receiver is 11mA from 1.8V supply while maintaining blocking performance and NF of 3.5dB. Test chips are fabricated in 0.18μm CMOS process.

Discrete-Time Receivers for Software-Defined Radio: Challenges and Solutions

CMOS radio receiver architectures, based on radio frequency (RF) sampling followed by discrete-time (DT) signal processing via switched-capacitor circuits, have recently been proposed for dedicated radio standards. This paper explores the suitability of such DT receivers for highly flexible softwaredefined radio (SDR) receivers. Via symbolic analysis and simulations we analyze the properties of...

Influence of timing jitter on quadrature charge sampling

The influence of timing jitter on quadrature charge sampling for a direct conversion receiver has been evaluated. In contrast to voltage sampling, the charge sampling mixer integrates the signal current instead of tracking the signal voltage. The charge sampling mixer has been applied to RF direct sampling in wireless receivers. The influence of timing jitter on charge sampling has been analyse...
